Questions, answered
Is the pottery handmade?
Much of our pottery is shaped and finished by hand, and some is made in larger workshops but it's all good, sturdy ceramic, and our family chooses every single piece in person. We don't claim everything is 100% handmade; what we do promise is that each pot is hand-picked for quality and built to last.
Will they survive Vancouver winters?
Our pots are high-fired ceramic far sturdier than thinner, lower-quality planters. Choose an outdoor-suitable pot and we'll show you simple ways to help it through a wet, cold winter.
How does the free repotting work?
Enter your email above and we'll send your free-repotting voucher. Bring it to our Kitsilano store, pick your pot, and we'll repot your plant for you - free, in the right soil (tropical, succulent or outdoor). Valid 30 days, one plant per customer.

A family-run garden centre, not a big-box store
DH Garden Centre is run by Darrell, who has gardened on the West Coast for more than 25 years, and Hien, who was born and raised in Vietnam.
Over the years, from countless conversations with customers, Darrell kept hearing the same wish - people wanted beautiful, distinctive pots, but kept finding only a small selection from one garden centre to the next. So every time the couple travels back to Vietnam, they spend much of the trip visiting potteries and workshops, hand-picking pottery designs province by province. Much of it is shaped and finished by hand by skilled local workers, and our family chooses every single piece ourselves - which is how we keep the quality high, the choice wide, and the prices fair.
We're not here just to sell pots. We're here to help your garden grow better - the right pot, the right plant, the right advice, from a family who genuinely cares how it turns out.
